18:00, Reception, Galerie Claudiana
U.S. Ambassador to Austria, William C. Eacho III, visited the ACI facilities, accompanied by his wife Donna, Cultural Attaché Marlene Nice and Public Affairs Specialist Roland Fuchs. He spoke to a gathered audience in the historic Claudiasaal of the University of Innsbruck building which houses the ACI in Innsbruck’s Old Town. Ambassador Eacho focused his comments on U.S. Foreign Policy Priorities and Green Technology, followed by a question and answer period moderated by ACI director Margaret Davidson. Thereafter, the Ambassador and some 85 guests continued conversations at a buffet in the Galerie Claudiana area outside the ACI office. The buffet was “green” themed, being provided by local Tirolean farmers who cater using their own, largely organic products. Publications provided by the Embassy were placed out for distribution, and many guests left with enthusiastic “thank you’s” for the booklets and the evening.
