Cold and Controlled Collision Dynamics
Our group wants to understand fundamental reaction mechanisms and learn more about the chemical evolution in space. For this, we use laser cooling and trapping techniques to study and control chemical reactions in a regime dominated by quantum effects. Besides that, we are also involved in beamtimes at large laser facilities which allow us, for instance, to track chemical reaction dynamics in real time.
Our research group is part of the Innsbruck Physics Research Center. We are grateful for the external funding for our research by the Austrian Academy of Sciences (ÖAW).
We are always looking for motivated candidates who are interested in B.Sc. or M.Sc. research projects. For more information please contact us.
