Information about the Admission Procedures for the Bachelor's Programme Psychology for the Academic Year 2024/2025

The registration for the admission procedure for the Bachelor's Programme Psychologie expired on 15th July 2024. No more late registrations for the academic year 2024/2025 are possible, without any exeptions.
1,297 appilicants have registered.

The number of applicants registered by 15th July 2024 exceeds the number of study places determined in the University of Innsbruck bulletin (260). Therefore, it is necessary to carry out a written admission test.

The written test will take place on 27nd August 2024. Further information on the procedure, safety and hygiene measures, location, time, etc. will be sent to all duly registered applicants via E-mail to their LFU:online accounts by 11st August 2024 at the latest.

For organisational reasons, we kindly ask you to inform us in writing if you will not take part in the admission test for the Bachelor's Programme Psychology at the University of Innsbruck.

All applicants with a valid registration were informed on 18th July 2024 by message via the LFU:online account ("My forms" "Inbox"). If you have not received a message despide successful registration, please contact aufnahmeverfahren-neu@uibk.ac.at.

If you are interested in the Bachelor's Programme Psychology it is important to be aware of the following conditions: Each academic year, the University of Innsbruck makes the following number of study places available: 260. In order to obtain one of these places of study, you need to complete the following steps:

Admission Procedures - Workflow

The entrance test always takes place in presence in Innsbruck.

Please note the following: You can already take part in the admission procedure without proof of university entrance qualification.

If you pass the entrance test and are offered one of the study places, you will only then need proof of university entrance qualification (etc.) for admission to the degree programme by the Admissions Office.

Online-Registration and Payment of the Handling Fee:

1st March till 15th July 2024; you will find further information about the payment of the handling fee in the amount of € 50.-- in the University of Innsbruck announcement resp. the available payment terms within the online registration.

  1. Registration for the Admission Procedure.
  2. Enter your data into the system, pay the handling fee and register for the Bachelor's Programme Psychology. 
  3. After you have completed the registration you can print your confirmation of registration.  

Admission test

If there are more applicants than places, an admission test will take place on 27th August 2024. You will receive timely information about the venue and time of the test after the registration deadline.

The admission test is a written examination and includes the following components:

  1. To understand simple, subject-related texts in German and English
  2. Ability to formal-analytic thinking 
  3. Ability to gain subject-related knowledge from literature especially for beginners. For this part of the test you have to study a study script called Lernskript Aufnahmeprüfung Bachelor Psychologie 2024 - Paris Lodron Universität Salzburg (plus.ac.at)

NOTE: Currently, only the learning script is available for the item ‘Subject-relevant knowledge from literature for beginners’. The book chapters from previous years are no longer part of the entrance test or have been completely replaced by the revised learning script.


The results of the admission test will be arranged in descending order, i.e. the best 260 applicants can be admitted for this study programme at the University of Innsbruck  if the general requirements are met according to §§ 63 and following of the Universities Act 2002. Admission to the University of Innsbruck is only possible for the winter semester 2024/2025 or the summer semester 2025. For a later admission you have to pass the admission procedures again.
