New procedure for submitting the Dissertation (valid from November 1st 2023)
The following steps are to be observed/distinguished for the submission of the Dissertation as of November 1st 2023:
- The Registration of the Dissertation must have taken place in the Examination Office (Statutes §26 Para.4).
- The Dissertation must be submitted in electronic form.
- The Dissertation must be assessed by the supervisors within three months of submission. (Statutes §26 Para. 7)
- The Rectorate's guideline on safeguarding good scientific practice must be observed and it must be ensured that the online publication does not infringe any third-party rights, in particular image rights, other copyrights or ancillary copyrights, data protection rights and business secrets.
- If this is not possible for legal reasons, you must clarify with your supervisor before submitting the scientific paper whether an embargo or partial publication of the scientific paper is possible.
- Agree whether your supervisor would like a printed version for the assessment of the thesis. This copy is purely for assessment purposes and will not be forwarded to the Examinations Office (abbr. PR) (according to §25 par. 10 of the Statutes)
- Fill out the following forms and send them together with your Dissertation (PDF) to the Examination Office. Please note the names of the individual files:
- Submission of the dissertation:
- Submission of the Dissertation for the Examination Office Campus Innrain 52d
- Submission of the Dissertation for the Examination Office Campus Technikerstraße 17
- Submission of the Dissertation for the Examination Office Campus Universitätsstraße 15
- entry form for the ULB
Save this and submit the confirmation of registration together with the dissertation. - The assessments/reviews must be received by the Examination Office at the latest one month before the defence.

A considerable amount of student master data was illegally requested on December 21st 2023.
For all requests from students (e.g. submission of examination records or theses, exam registrations) we require a scan of a photo ID to verify identity.
Submit your paper in PDF-format by e-mail to the Examination Office (pruefungsreferat@uibk.ac.at).

However, if you do not wish certain appendices to be published for understandable reasons, you must submit an approved request for partial publication plus the work in the appropriate different scopes and formats.
All submitted documents are forwarded to the ULB for archiving. The publication of the scientific papers including any attachments and additional files take place electronically in the repository of the ULB.
Further processing is carried out by the Examination Office / ULB.

2. Two completely bound paper versions of the academic paper including any appendices on papar or digital data carriers for publcation at the "Universitäts- und Landesbibliothek Tirol" and the "Österreichische Nationalbibliothek".
3. An electronic version for publication in which those contents or attachements that may not be published electronically for legal reasons have been removed. This version shall contain a refernce to the removed parts and the publication of the complte bound paper version at the "Universitäts- und Landesbibliothek Tirol" (ULB) library in a suitable place.
