EXCURSIONS

The excursions have been selected  in order to give the  accompanying persons an enjoyable stay in the Tyrol and as many impressions of Innsbruck as possible.

Innsbruck Card

The Innsbruck Card includes e.g. :

  • entry to 22 museums and attractions
  • one upward and one downward journey on selected lifts and cable cars in the region
  • free use of public transport
  • free use of the Sightseer hop-on hop-off bus all

For the  accompanying persons a 48h card can be purchased as part of the conference registration, giving you the possibility to discover Innsbruck's highlights.

Seegrube and Hafelekar

The Innsbruck Nordkettenbahnen cable car takes you from the city center in just few minutes up to the mountain site where you can enjoy a gorgous view of Innsbruck and the Karwendel Natural Park. If you want you can also go up to visit the Hafelekar which is a peak at 2334 meters elevation directly above the Seegrube. Up there is also the location of a research station from 1931 to measure cosmic radiation.

Patscherkofel and Zirbenweg

The Patscherkofel is a 2246m high mountain in the South of Innsbruck. It is particularly famous for its dense pine forest, which you can explore on a leisurely hike with breathtaking view of the Inntal and Innsbruck.
It is also famous because the Alpine downhill races of the 1964 and 1976 Winter Olympics took place there.

Innsbrucker Hofburg

The Imperial Palace  (German: Kaiserliche Hofburg), originally completed in the year 1500 in the time of Emperor Maximilian I (1459-1519), is one of the major attractions in Innsbruck. Beside Schönbrunn Palace and the Imperial Palace of Vienna, the Imperial Palace at Innsbruck is one of the three major historic-cultural monuments in Austria. The Palace, known as the Hofburg by locals, is now a museum with the Giant’s Hall, Guards’ Hall, Lorraine Room and Chapel to give visitors a sense of the wealth of the former Habsburg Dynasty.

Swarovski Kristallwelten

Swarovski Crystal Worlds is a beautiful excursion destination outside of Innsbruck which can be easily reached with the bus or train. So you get the possibility to see a bit more of Austria and enjoy the beauty of the world famous Swarovski crystals in spectacular art installations as well as within the amazing garden area.
