
International Terminology Awards 2025
The call for nominations for the Terminology Awards is now open.
The International Terminology Awards are administered by the European Association for Terminology in order to promote research and development in the field of terminology and support future terminology activity by rewarding the work of up-and-coming researchers in the field.
There are two International Terminology Awards:
- The International Award for Distinguished Achievement in Terminology (MA level)
- The International Award for Outstanding Achievement in Terminology Research and Development (PhD level)
Submissions may consist of doctoral theses or masters dissertations in any language.
Candidates may be nominated by any academic institution (e.g. a university or a faculty) in Europe, or may nominate themselves. Documents required (in digital format):
- 10-page abstract in English
- candidate’s CV
- a statement in support of the thesis or dissertation by one of the main supervisors (not exceeding one A4 page)
- a copy of the thesis or dissertation
Submitted theses or dissertations will be evaluated on the basis of the innovativeness of their content and how they contribute towards further developing applied research and development in the field of terminology.
The Awards Ceremony will take place during the XII Terminology Summit, which will be held in Innsbruck on 27-29 November 2025.
Candidates are required to submit their candidature online to the EAFT Secretariat (term@eaft-aet.net) and the President of the Jury Mojca Žagar Karer (mojca.zagar@zrc-sazu.si) by April 1, 2025.
