Extended Abstract and Full Paper Submission process overview.
Extended Abstract
Abstract submission and registration are both handled by ConfTool (https://www.conftool.com/multibody2025).
The decision of acceptance/rejection of your contribution will be supported by a peer-review process on extended abstracts. Only original contributions will be considered for presentation. Accepted extended abstracts will be available online, while short abstracts will be included in the printed booklet distributed at the venue.
No more than one oral presentation can be delivered per each registered author, while the number of submissions is limited to 3 per submitting author. A registered participant may hold the co-authorship of multiple contributions, provided that each of them is linked to a different registration.
All authors must upload a two-page abstract. The extended abstract should convey the main ideas and contributions of the presented work, including their methods and advances with respect to existing literature and state of the art, such as to allow a methodological assessment of the novelty of the work. A typical extended abstract contains an introduction with state of the art, a problem description, the applied methods, the obtained results, their discussion, as well as a conclusion followed by a list of the most significant references.
You are asked to submit a PDF file of your extended abstract. Please use the templates provided on this website and follow the instructions described there.
Additionally, a short abstract is required for the upload process and will be included in the printed booklet (NOTE: maximum 180 words; during submission of the extended abstract with ConfTool, the short abstract is denoted as “Abstract” in the online form; plain text only).
You should select a conference topic upon the submission of your extended abstract.
Full Paper Submission
Full papers must be written in English following the Submission Guidelines and Instructions for Authors (https://link.springer.com/journal/11044/submission-guidelines) and should not exceed 20 pages.
Authors are asked to submit full papers following either 1.A (Journal submission) or 1.B (Virtual conference proceedings):
1.A) For comprehensive and fully-developed research papers, we suggest to submit papers to the Springer-Nature Journal Multibody System Dynamics (https://link.springer.com/journal/11044) within the „Special Issue on Multibody Dynamics” (https://link.springer.com/collections/hjachbbdca).
During the paper submission process:
- In the "Details" navigation tab, select the collection "Special Issue on Multibody Dynamics."
- In the "Review" navigation tab, select the option "Share your work as a preprint."
Continue with point 2.)
1.B) For a virtual conference proceeding, please upload the paper to Research Square (https://www.researchsquare.com) which is the preprint system used by Springer-Nature Journal Multibody System Dynamics. Continue with point 2.)
2.) After the paper has been made available to Research Square, it will undergo pre-checks, which typically take a few days. Once approved, the paper will be published on the Research Square website, and you can then proceed with ConfTool (https://www.conftool.com/multibody2025), under "Your Submissions", by clicking on the “Virtual Conference Proceedings” item. In the following steps, the link (url) to the online paper on Research Square must be copied into the field „Web-link to preprint at Research Square“ in order to have the paper included in the virtual conference proceedings and in the booklet (as QR-code).
Why This Approach?
This dual-option process aligns with the principles of good scientific practice by offering flexibility while maintaining high academic standards, in particular regarding transparency and accessibility:
- Option 1.A (Journal submission): Ensures that comprehensive, fully-developed, and highest-quality research undergoes rigorous peer review, guaranteeing quality and contributing to the field through publication in a high-impact journal. Adhering to strict submission deadlines ensures timely completion of special issues and availability of high-quality contributions.
- Option 1.B (Virtual conference proceedings): Provides faster dissemination for focused, complete and high-quality contributions, allowing early visibility and leveraging discussion and interaction at the conference.
In contrast to the new preprint approach, conventional proceedings in non-public repositories or as book collections are usually not long-term and freely accessible. Proceedings on conference web pages disappear as soon as conference pages go offline and include the problem of potential self-plagiarism (or otherwise forces authors to fully rewrite their papers for journal submission), which is why preprints are a perfect solution to overcome these problems.
Instructions for Presenters
Each oral presentation will take 20 minutes including discussion.
The files required for the presentation (PowerPoint or PDF) should be uploaded and tested during the coffee or lunch breaks before the beginning of the session to ensure compatibility.
The lecture rooms contain a Windows PC with Office and Acrobat PDF Reader connected to a data projector. It is not recommended to use your own PC. To avoid delays in the procedure, please upload the slides to the locally available PC before the respective session.
Technical support will be provided on-site by the Multibody2025 staff to ensure a smooth delivery of all presentations.
No more than one oral presentation can be delivered per each registered author.
