New Curriculum for the MA programme Philosophy
On the October 1st 2023 the new curriculum for the MA programme Philosophy entered into force: https://www.uibk.ac.at/studium/angebot/ma-philosophie-23w/
Students inscribed into the MA programme for the first time from the Winter Term 2023/24 study automatically according to the new curriculum.
Students that inscribed earlier - and are continuously inscribed - have two options: either to continue with the old curriculum or to change into the new one.
Changes
Several points distinguish the new programme from its predecessor:
1. Next to the mandatory modules also facultative modules can be chosen;
2. A "Vertiefung Praktische Philosophie" can be facultatively chosen, however is not mandatory to graduate;
3. The AG Forschung format for lectures was implemented;
4. Several new facultative modules were created;
5. The possibilty to conduct an internship and receive credits for it was implemented;
6. The MA-Thesis is now creditted with 25 ECTS.
The new MA curriculum offers benefits in comparison to its predecessor insofar as more facultative options are given, though it can also be studies as before.
In case you have questions, please contact Andreas Oberprantacher (andreas.oberprantacher@uibk.ac.at).
