Staying abroad

We support students with a disability, impairment and/or chronic illness who are planning a stay abroad and students who are completing a stay abroad in Innsbruck. This platform provides a good overview of the opportunities at the individual universities: https://inclusivemobility.eu/

Erasmus+

Students have the opportunity to study at a partner university for one or two semesters with the Erasmus+ program or to receive funding for an internship abroad. If individual needs are addressed as early as possible in the planning process, the host university can also be informed accordingly and suitable support services can be organized by them.

Students with a disability or students with a chronic illness who incur additional costs during their stay abroad are counted as "students with fewer opportunities" and receive a monthly top-up of €250 to the Erasmus grant on presentation of proof (e.g. medical certificate, disability pass or proof of additional costs incurred in the case of chronic illnesses). Apart from the above-mentioned proof, no additional application is necessary.

Students for whom a stay abroad would incur additional costs that cannot be covered by the monthly top-up amount (e.g. preparatory visit on site, support from an assistant) can instead apply for reimbursement of the actual real costs incurred via the IRO. This inclusion support must be applied for early enough in the planning phase of a stay abroad. Further information and the relevant forms can be obtained from the International Relations Office.
