Production of teaching materials
The DMLT teaching material production service is essentially a co-operation between lecturers at the University of Innsbruck, media didactics experts and media producers. The content and its applications always originate from the lecturers.
Every teaching material production begins with consultation meetings and a production agreement. The consultations deal with project structure, project realisation, didactical aspects and the weighing of advantages and disadvantages of using different types of media. The content itself and how it will be used in teaching are the lecturers' responsibility.
The production agreement sets out which tasks are to be done by which project members, for example by the DMLT media producers. Following this, the teaching and learning materials are produced. In larger projects the DMLT producers are in regular contact with the other project participants. Production is considered complete once the materials have been published.
In principle, many different types of media are suitable for imparting knowledge. The DMLT media producers will support you with their technical expertise and equipment for a wide range of possibilities. These include the production of videos, podcasts, voice-overs, infographics, illustrations and the design and realisation of OpenOlat courses. Any productions resulting from this collaborations are always customised to suit your individual requirements and expectations.
The aim of the productions is to supplement or enhance your teaching with high-quality teaching materials. At the same time, the knowledge about to be imparted via these products should also be made accessible to the widest possible audience. For this reason, the teaching materials resulting from the collaborations are published as open educational resources - OER. The so-called OER Repository of the University of Innsbruck is available for this purpose. Within the repository, materials may receive a DOI and are systematically sorted and editorially published according to subject area, media type and other metadata. In addition, the teaching materials can also be distributed individually via other channels or platforms, e.g. in specialist journals.
