10-110 Course Assessment in a Learning Path Course

What you need to know

In a learning path, you can specify in the administration settings when the entire course has been passed and how it should be assessed. For example, a course can be passed when participants have achieved 100% learning progress, have passed all or a certain number of course elements or have achieved a certain minimum number of points. It is sufficient to fulfil one of the marked criteria. The learning progress indicator is located at the top right of the course view for participants and is displayed with a circle.

What you need to do

In your course, click on Administration and on Settings. The settings open.

Execution tab

Define how the learning progress should be calculated:

  • According to the number of mandatory course elements: All course elements are of equal value: if there are ten course elements, for example, each course element is counted as ten per cent in the learning progress display. The actual completion time is irrelevant.
  • According to the estimated duration of the mandatory course elements: The estimated completion times of the individual course elements are totalled and used as the 100% basis for calculating the learning progress.

Assessment tab

Specify when a course is deemed to have been passed and whether or what type of points are displayed:

  • Points calculation:
    • Sum: If you award points in assessable course elements (test, task, tick list, ...), you can display the total of these points in addition to the percentage in the learning progress of the course.
    • Sum with weighting: Addition of points with weighting per course element
    • Average: If you award points in assessable course elements, you can display the average of these points in relation to the number of assessable elements in addition to the percentage in the learning progress of the course.
  • Passed if one of the criteria is met:
    • Learning progress 100%: If the course has been completed 100%, it has been passed.
    • All relevant course elements passed: Participants must complete all course elements for the course to be graded positively.
    • A certain number of the relevent course elements passed: Specify how many course elements must be completed for the course to be graded positively.
    • Cut value reached: Participants must first achieve a certain number of points in the assessable modules (test, task, tick list, etc.) before the course can be assessed as positive.

Define which rights coaches have in relation to the course evaluation. Coaches can:

  • set "Passed/Failed" of the course assessment manually: in the course under Administration -> Evaluation tool -> Participants -> Select participants -> Set "Passed".
  • reset participant data
  • assign Levels/Grading
  • release assessment
