Overview

Notification of updates

OpenOlat can notify you with an email notification if the Course elements you have subscribed to are updated. You can subscribe to notifications for the following Course elements: Forum, File, Wiki, Calendar, Task, Grouptask, File discussion, Notifications, Participant folder, Appointment scheduling, Blog and Podcast.

You can define the notification interval in the settings of your User profile (see HelpCard 00-020). The email notification will be sent to the email address linked to your User account.

Important steps

  1. Choose the Course element that you would like to subscribe to notifications from. The Course element opens.

  2. In the upper right-hand corner, beside Modifications, change the switch from OFF to ON.

If you want to subscribe to more Course elements, you will need to repeat this for each Course element.

By default, all notifications will collectively be sent to you daily in OpenOlat. If you want to be notified more frequently, you can change the settings:

  1. Click on your Profile picture in the upper right-hand corner and choose System Settings. The Settings page opens. 

  2. In the System tab, choose E-mail notification in the drop-down menu and set the interval.

  3. Save your changes. The new configuration will be activated next time you log into OpenOlat.
