What you need to know
The project tool integrated in OpenOlat is primarily a tool for project documentation (not for project planning). It is course-independent and cannot be evaluated directly in OpenOlat.
Possible scenarios for the project tool are
- Projects of a learning group,
- longer individual projects (e.g. dissertations),
- learning diaries,
- project management courses.
What you need to do
Create a project
- Click on Projects in the OpernOlat main menu.
- Under My projects, click on Create project.
- Give the project a Title and add further optional information if necessary.
- Click on Save. You can now open and manage the project.
Create project template
- Click on Projects in the OpenOlat main menu.
- Under Project templates , click on Create empty template.
- Give the project template a Title and add any other optional information.
- Click on Save. You can now open and manage the project template.
Creating a project from an existing template
- Click on Projects in the OpenOlat main menu.
- Click on Project templates.
- Click on Create project from template for the desired template. A project is created directly. You can now manage the project.
Manage project
- Click on Projects in the OpenOlat main menu.
- Click on Open for the project you want to manage.
- Click on the three-dot symbol at the top right. You will find various management options in the drop-down menu.
- You can use various tools in a project:
- Schedule: Define deadlines and milestones.
- To-dos: Create to-dos for yourself or delegate them to other people in the project.
- Decisions: Document decisions made for the project.
- Notes: Create notes for the project.
- Files: Use the plus symbol to create files directly in the project or upload files from your device.
- Whiteboard: Use a digital whiteboard.
- Timeline: View the activities in the project.
