Metadata

Once you have Uploaded materials, you can complete their metadata.

To do this, click on the three-dot symbol in the upper right-hand corner of the material. A list of actions and options will open. Click on Edit info. The fields marked with a red asterisk are mandatory. The individual fields are described below.

General

filename

The filename is only displayed in the Workspace and in connected networks (WebDAV). It is the name under which the material is saved. The abbreviation of the file type is entered here after the dot. Please do not use any special characters.

title

You can give the material a title here. If no title is specified, the filename is used.

description

Describe the content of the material here. Click on the hatched triangle on the right-hand side of the field and drag it downwards to enlarge the field.

General keywords

You can tag your material with one or more terms. Concise keywords will help you later when searching. To enter more than one keyword, press the Enter key after each keyword. To remove a keyword, click on the cross behind the keyword.

Language(s) of the learning object

Select the language or languages of the material from a list. If the material has no language content, select No linguistic content; Not applicable.

Licence

Click on manage licence to change the currently selected licence or add a new licence. This opens the Define licence window. Here you can choose between 3 OER licences:

  • CC 0 / Public Domain: I hold the copyright and irrevocably waive it on this material. You can find more information at the website of Creative Commons.
  • CC-BY: Others may edit the material and then share it as long as they name the authors. You can find more information at the website of Creative Commons.
  • CC-BY-SA: Others may share adaptations of the material as long as they give credit to the author and distribute it under the same conditions. You can find more information at the website of Creative Commons.

It is also possible to publish under a different licence. If you would like a different licence, click on the slider to the right of OER licences only.

After selecting the licence, enter the Authors and other Contributors . If you selected an OER licence, you can enter the Reference information for the material and adjust the version of the licence. Then save your details.

Educational

Aggregation Level

The aggregation level describes the level of detail of the uploaded material. Here you have the choice between

  • 1 - raw mediat data or fragments
  • 2 - Collection of lvl 1 objects, e.g. a lesson
  • 3 - a collection of lvl 2 objects, e.g a course
  • 4 - a collection of lvl 3 objects, e.g a set of courses

Description

Describe the instructions for using the content, the learning objective(s) and possible teaching scenarios for the uploaded materials as precisely as possible. Click on the hatched triangle on the right side of the field and drag it downwards to enlarge the field.

Learning resource type

Click on the small black triangle on the right-hand side of the field to open the list of material types from which you can choose. Multiple selection is possible.

subject

Click on the small black triangle on the right-hand side of the field to open the list of subject and subject areas from which you can choose. You can use the search field to filter the list according to specific areas of subjects. Multiple selections are possible.

Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)

Click on the small black triangle on the right-hand side of the field to open the list of sustainable development goals from which you can choose. Multiple selections are possible. You can find more information on the goals at SDG portal.

Save all your entries by clicking on save when you have finished.
