Information on the PhD Seminar
The primary goal of the PhD Seminar is to provide students with feedback on their research to improve their projects.
Slots in the PhD Seminar are roughly 40-45 minutes, depending on the number of presenters. You should aim for about 25 minutes of net presentation time, leaving the rest for discussion. You can also highlight which parts of the projects you would appreciate feedback on in particular. The PhD Seminar provides a space designed to foster open and honest discussions about your projects, where feedback is offered in a constructive spirit. To maximize the benefits of your presentation, we suggest that you ask a colleague to take notes about the comments received during your presentation.
All PhD students are expected to participate, not just the presenters. The PhD seminar provides a forum for informal exchange between faculty and PhD students from JKU and UIBK that we should use well.
