Field of work: Development of simulation methods, characterisation of daylighting systems, lighting technology fundamentals, modelling and simulation.

David Geisler-Moroder studied Technical Mathematics at the University of Innsbruck. After his PhD he was as a project manager and later Head of the Competence Field Daylight in the R&D department of Bartenbach, the renown lighting design and engineering company. Since beginning of 2023 he has been working as a Research Associate in the Unit for Energy Efficient Building at the University of Innsbruck. His main work and research areas include the development of simulation methods, the interface between daylighting and building physics, daylighting systems, (day)lighting effects on humans, and lighting technology principles. He is currently leading Subtask C “Digitalized Lighting Solutions (Technology & Design Tools / Process)” in the SHC Task 70 / EBC Annex 90 “Low Carbon, High Comfort Integrated Lighting” of the International Energy Agency IEA, as well as the standardization project ISO/CIE 25176 “Light and lighting – Daylight in buildings – BSDF data generation for complex fenestration systems”.
