The team from the Unit of Energy Efficient Building recently went on an exciting excursion to the H41 Sillschlucht-Pfons construction lot of the Brenner Base Tunnel. An informative overview of the construction lot and the overall project was followed by a safety briefing and a reading of the safety equipment. The bus then travelled deep into the tunnel, where the exploratory tunnel, the conveyor belt systems and the tunnel pipe overpass sections were inspected. After the impressive excursion, the day ended with lunch together in Innsbruck.
Company outing to the Brenner Base Tunnel
This year's company outing took us to the impressive Brenner Base Tunnel. Equipped with protective gear, we descended from the Ahrental portal into the exploratory tunnel to experience the dimensions and challenges of this mega-project at first hand.
