Equipment

Equipment
The members of the Functional Materials Science research focus have a unique and extensive equipment infrastructure at their disposal.
Core Facilities
The working groups of the research focus currently operate six core facilities.
Core facilities are centralised facilities in which large-scale equipment is provided and used by several groups and institutes. The core facilities have a high level of expertise and are open for collaborations.
Additive Manufacturing Lab
Research laboratory for material and process development for additive manufacturing with powder bed-based manufacturing processes for metals and alloys.
NanoLab Innsbruck
Microscopy, analytics and mechanical materials testing, including special areas such as thin-film technology.
Diffractioncentre West
Phase analysis and structural investigations of polycrystalline and monocrystalline materials using X-rays.
Interface in Hybrid Systems
Research infrastructure for the structural analysis (chemical and physical) of interfaces in hybrid structures.
Mineralogical analyses
Spectroscopy, microscopy and X-ray analyses
Mineralogy - High Pressure (Temperature) devices
Syntheses and high-temperature experiments at various pressures.
