Servus and welcome to the Innsbruck Quaternary Research Group.
Innsbruck Quaternary Research Group
We are geoscientists investigating changes in the climate and environment during the Quaternary, which is the youngest geological period of Earth’s history spanning the last 2.6 million years.
Our research offers important insights into rates of change and the associated processes, with relevance to issues related to human-induced global change. We employ a wide range of techniques both in-house and via a network of international collaborators.
Over the last two decades our team has gained considerable experience in terrestrial palaeoclimatology, cave and karst science, Quaternary geology, stable isotope geochemistry, geoarchaeology and luminescence geochronology.
