EU Prototypenbau 2024

EU Vertiefung Prototypenbau 2024

Summary:
As an architectural project, Twisted Cloud expresses the innovation of aesthetics, material use, and sense of the space. The project looks for innovative design aesthetics for architectural structures involving unconventional, curvilinear shapes and forms resembling the organic and fluid nature of clouds. We will explore the use of flexible and adaptive materials that mimic the dynamic and ever-changing nature of clouds.  The spatial configuration of the final design model suggests interconnected and dynamic spaces that evoke the feeling of floating or drifting, similar to clouds in the sky. The final architectural structure (twsited clouds) will be assembled in a 1:1 scale as a group project.

The course began with an exploration of minimal surface principles through experiments with soap film models. Based on these physical principles, the students designed and fabricated fabric prototypes. These models were then scanned and imported into a digital environment.
