Visiting PhD Student Chiara Innocente
We welcome our visiting PhD student Chiara Innocente from 3D LAB Politecnico di Torino to igs group!
Her ongoing research involves the use of the Extended Reality technologies for the development of user-centered solutions, focusing on various application fields, including manufacturing, healthcare, and cultural heritage.
Here, she will focus on exploring the role of haptic feedback in enhancing remote collaborative surgical planning. Her work aims to develop immersive, user-centered systems that allow surgeons and engineers to work together in real time, interacting with 3D virtual models of patient-specific anatomy. By integrating haptics within Extended Reality environments, she aspires to bring a new level of sensory engagement to preoperative planning, making remote collaboration as intuitive and effective as in-person teamwork.
