LearningPlanet Festival 2025: Cultivating the Next Generation of Young Peacebuilders

With 183 conflicts currently unfolding worldwide, the imperative for effective peacebuilding has never been more urgent. Reflecting this priority, 46,000 young people globally have identified “Peace” as their top concern (Youth Talks, 2023). This powerful call challenges us to reimagine peace education—not just as a means of informing and facilitating dialogue but as a catalyst for empowering individuals and civil society to actively build peace.

The panel discussion will explore how peace education can evolve to create lasting positive peace by empowering individuals, notably young leaders, as beneficiaries and co-creators, strategists, and changemakers in conflict transformation. Together with diverse leading experts, we will examine scalable strategies that position youth as true artisans of peace. By cultivating collaboration among international institutions, researchers, educators, grassroots practitioners, and youth organisations, we aim to harness valuable insights to ensure that the transformative potential of peace education reaches every corner of society — nurturing a global culture of positive peace.
