Elisabeth Gsottbauer is a Senior Researcher at the Department of Economics of the University of Innsbruck and a Assistant Professorial Research Fellow at the Grantham Research Institute on Climate Change and the Environment at the London School of Economics. Her main research interests lie in Environmental Economics, Behavioral and Experimental Economics.

About
Elisabeth Gsottbauer studied Economics and International Economic and Business Studies at the University of Innsbruck and earned her PhD at the Institute for Environmental Science and Technology in Barcelona. She was a Guest Professor and Assistant Professor at the University of Innsbruck and has worked at numerous other international universities. Since 2022, she is a senior researcher at the Department of Economics at the University of Innsbruck. She uses laboratory and field experiments to study the optimal design of environmental policy instruments and has published studies on etchical and sustainable behaviour, incentives for sustainable land use, global carbon pricing, the public support for environmental policy interventions. She is a Lead Author of the 2nd Austrian Assessment Report Climate Change (AAR2) to Chapter 5 leveraging her expertise in understanding human behavior and how it can be influenced to become more sustainable.
