Jana Sophie Kesenheimer works as a post-doc at the University of Innsbruck in the Department of Social Psychology and is primarily involved in environmental psychology research.
Why don't we behave in an environmentally conscious way, even though we usually know better? How can we avoid reactance and get everyone on board when it comes to climate protection?
The focus of this research is primarily on the factors influencing individual, daily environmental behaviour. This includes, for example, the subjective assessment of the costs and benefits associated with behaviour, the role of emotions and, finally, the possible derivation of socially effective interventions.

About
Jana Sophie Kesenheimer studied in Tübingen at the Eberhard Karls University, worked in various areas of market research and marketing in between and then searched for a "better meaning" – which she found through her doctorate at the Leopold Franzens University Innsbruck in 2019. In 2022, she completed her PhD with the title "Psychological Determinants of Pro- Environmental behaviour" at the University of Innsbruck. Since then, she has been deepening her research in this area as a post-doc. In addition to science, she seeks the challenge as a long-distance cyclist on ultra-distances between 500 and several thousand kilometres.
