Kurt Nicolussi is the head of the Dendrochronology Laboratory at the Department of Geography, which analyzes woods to address questions of environmental and climatic development in the Holocene, with a focus on the high mountain region. Furthermore, he conducts tree-ring dating mainly in the field of building history research and archaeology in the central Eastern Alps.

About
Kurt Nicolussi is assoz. professor at the Department of Geography. His research focuses on tree-ring analyses of Holocene glacier variability in the Alps, studies of the Alpine tree line, dendroclimatic reconstructions, and the dating of timbers from historic buildings. His research group has built up tree-ring chronologies for the Alps over the past 10,000 years, back to the year 8072 BCE.
