Nikolina Ban is an Assistant Professor at the Department of Atmospheric and Cryospheric Sciences in the Ice and Climate group. She is working on regional high-resolution climate modelling with a focus on mountain climate and extreme events, like heavy precipitation, and their changes with further warming of the atmosphere.

About
Nikolina Ban's research focuses on the mountain climate in the regions of the European Alps and High Mountain Asia. She is studying how the resolution of climate models affects the simulation of climate and climate change. In particular, she is interested in temperature and snow changes, and how extreme precipitation changes with the temperature. Since 2020, she has been co-leading international programmes like the Numerical modelling group of CORDEX FPS on the Third Pole and TEAMx Working group on Mountain Climate.
