General printing cost subsidy

In order to provide financial and organisational support to researchers at the University of Innsbruck, a central printing cost grant is available to co-finance publications.

The University of Innsbruck's funding is awarded by the Vice-Rectorate for Research.

Submission is possible on an ongoing basis.

  1. Funding is available for academic publications (monographs, anthologies, conference proceedings, books, postdoctoral theses, commemorative publications, etc.).
  2. A grant for diploma theses is possible if Printing cost subsidy for young researchers has not already been awarded.
  3. The first author is a member of the University of Innsbruck. This is clearly indicated by a Valid affiliation to the University of Innsbruck.
  4. Funding by the Vice Rectorate for Research of the University of Innsbruck is mentioned in the title.
  5. An entry of the publication in the FLD database by the author is obligatory.

The following projects are not eligible for funding:

  • Translation costs
  • Proofreading work
  • dissertations
  • Master's theses
  • Personnel costs

An informal application to Forschung@uibk.ac.at is sufficient. Please enclose a brief description of the printing project, a cost breakdown and the publisher's offer.

As these are funds from the global budget, funding can only be transferred to the financial centre of an department once the title has been proven.

A transfer of funds to other funds (third-party funds or other self-generated income) is generally not possible. Unused funding amounts must also be reported to the Vice-Rectorate for Research and, if necessary, repaid upon request.
