Thesis Topics

To find your thesis topic please note that

  • in the Bachelor program topics will be provided by the lecturer in the course „Seminar mit Bachelorarbeit"
  • in the Master program the faculty will provide a large number of topics to choose from
  • for the (old) Diploma (IWW) program you need to find a topic jointly with a supervisor. A few potential topics can be found at the bottom of this page.

If you have an idea for a specific topic (area) or want to work on a project with a company*, please send a short informal letter to marketing@uibk.ac.at with

  1. your CV including the courses you have taken in the area of marketing, branding and retailing
  2. a paragraph outlining your research interests, thesis idea or the company project you envision

Once every month we will review these applications and one of us will get in touch to discuss your idea. Please do not send emails to individual staff members - most students send such emails to everyone which makes it difficult for us to provide a coordinated response.

* Please note that if you are in contact with an organization that is interested to sponsor your thesis, inform the company that we expect a contribution of 2000 Euro. This is not a payment that benefits the supervisor of the thesis but supports the research activities of our Team.
