Budget and controlling supports the management of the University of Innsbruck in the realisation of strategic goals in research, teaching and administration by providing information and datarelevant to management and decision-making.

In consultation with the University Management, Budget and Controlling ensures the active organisation of a balanced budget for the University of Innsbruck in the short, medium and long term .

Data protection is a high priority for the University of Innsbruck. The preparation and implementation of organisational data protection tasks is the main responsibility of Offices for data protection coordination. As the central point of contact in the Rectorate, the Office for Data Protection Coordination ensures that data protection regulations are implemented within the University.

The Office for Data Protection Coordination works closely with the external data protection officer, the IT security officer at the ZID and all organisational units involved in the processing of personal data.

Its tasks include supporting and advising the university management and the various organisational units in all matters relating to internal university communication (e.g. editing the website, intranet) as well as presenting the university to the public (e.g. press releases, holding press conferences, producing print media, social media).

In addition, Public Relations Office is also responsible for the implementation and further development of the University's corporate design (e.g. business cards, logo applications, print templates for business stationery), organises central University events and sees itself as a service point for all members of the University who wish to make contact with the public.

The university management, the staff bodies and the safety representatives are the cooperation partners of the safety experts and occupational medicine for the implementation of the Employee Protection Act (ASchG) at the University of Innsbruck. Our services in the area of Health and safety include counselling for all employees and the provision of information and templates at Manual for occupational health and safety and in a SharePoint, the so-called SharePoint SiGe

Faculty Service Centre is a central service facility of the University of Innsbruck, whose main tasks include the optimal and standardised processing of teaching and examination administration (e.g. proper entry in the catalogue of teaching objectives and maintenance of the online course catalogue in German and English, lecture hall and seminar room administration, contract processing for external lecturers, course evaluation, issuing of final study documents). Since 2013, the department has also been responsible for the organisational handling of all admission procedures prior to admission. The department's services are offered according to the principle of a one-stop-shop at the three main campuses of the university in a total of seven offices in Innsbruck and at the service centre in Landeck.

The Examination units will be happy to advise and support you in all examination matters.

As a service-oriented organisational unit, Finance department is primarily responsible for external accounting . Its core tasks include accounts payable and receivable, payroll accounting, asset accounting, procurement and tendering and contracting. They also prepare the annual financial statements with balance sheet and profit and loss account.

The service unit for Buildings and infrastructure supports all employees at the University of Innsbruck in the areas of major construction projects, the maintenance programme, space management, car park management and transport.

The Central IT Service (ZID) is an internal service organisation responsible for the provision and operation of the entire IT infrastructure (communication network including telephony, computers and software infrastructure) and the IT services for research, teaching, studies and administration based on it.

Internal audit is responsible for auditing the efficiency and legality of the University of Innsbruck's financial management . In doing so, it contributes to the best possible utilisation of the resources available to the University and helps to ensure compliance with legal regulations . The starting point for the audit is a corresponding audit mandate from the Rectorate, to which the audit reports prepared by Internal Audit are also sent.

The international services coordinate and support cross-border activities at the University of Innsbruck through their wide range of service facilities.

In addition to teaching and research, continuing education is another major task of universities. Continuing academic education at the University of Innsbruck provides additional and higher specialised qualifications in the fields of study represented at the university. This combines research at the highest level with current practical relevance.

The wide range of continuing education programmes at Coordination centre for university continuing education offers people who are already working the opportunity to update and develop their subject-specific skills and learn about new aspects.

As a service- and customer-orientated service facility, Personnel department is the central point of contact for all university employees in personnel matters .

For example, it draws up employment contracts, processes salary payments and is happy to provide advice on employment relationships. All important information is available at on their homepage. A catalogue of forms also provides many documents for download.

Personnel developmentoffers a wide range of support programmes that promote both the professional and personal development of our employees and managers. With our initiatives, we are helping to shape the university successfully and sustainably. In doing so, we contribute to a positive working environment that is characterised by appreciation, inclusion and health promotion.

The project.service.office is a service centre of the University of Innsbruck for the consultation, application, implementation and administration of research projects. The projekt.service.büro team advises and supports researchers at the University of Innsbruck in the development of project concepts, the selection of suitable funding opportunities, the preparation and submission of project applications as well as the implementation and administration of projects.

The Language Centre offers students and employees of the university and external interested parties a high-quality range of language and intercultural courses.

There is currently a wide range of 16 languages and over 100 courses to choose from. Since the Language Centre was founded in 2002, around 40,000 participants have successfully completed language courses.

By simulating real-life scenarios, participants are prepared to apply what they have learnt in everyday situations . Sensitisation to cultural contexts is an additional core element of the application-oriented teaching.

The central task of Study department is the admission of domestic and international students. This includes new admissions and equivalency examinations, transfers, international mobility programmes and the university entrance qualification examination. Closely linked to admissions is the collection of tuition fees and their possible reimbursement or waiver. The Department of Graduation and Doctoral Studies is responsible for graduation ceremonies.

The Transfer office supports our academics in collaborations with external partners from business and society and in the transfer of knowledge from the university to society. The transfer office assists with the initiation of research collaborations, supports university spin-offs through start-up counselling and the university investment company Uniholding, manages career service formats for students and companies, expands the alumni network and offers newly appointed professors a welcome service including dual career support.

As a central service centre, the task of ULB is to provide information to teaching staff, researchers and students. It is open and free of charge to all members of the Leopold Franzens University, the Medical University and the Management Centre Innsbruck as well as to people living in Tyrol over the age of 16.

With a total collection of over 3.5 million volumes, newspapers and journals, e-journals, e-books and databases as well as its valuable special collections, the ULB Tirol is the third largest library in Austria. It has seven locations in the city of Innsbruck and currently serves around 25,000 active library users. In its function as a provincial library, the ULB collects all works of Tyrolean literary production.

The sports programme at University Sports Institute (USI) is primarily aimed at students and staff at both universities. The modern sports facility (120,000 square metres) offers everyone an ideal environment for fun and relaxation. The programme includes over 150 different sports in more than 400 courses. The university publishing house innsbruck university press (iup) was founded in 2005 by Rector Tilmann Märk. With a "full range programme", the publishing house guarantees an interdisciplinary presentation of current topics with various series and 15 journals and thus represents the diversity of the University of Innsbruck. It publishes regionally, nationally and internationally relevant research results as well as publications that enrich cultural life. The publication of scientific works committed to the humanistic cultural tradition is not only a sustainable contribution to social and technological progress, but also a calling card of the university and guarantees citation, authenticity and permanent availability of research results.

The main business area of University Centre Obergurgl is the organisation of high-calibre scientific conferences, seminars, excursions and workshops.

The Obergurgl University Centre is also used for sports training and further education as well as research in the fields of sports and high-altitude medicine. As part of the Alpine Research Centre, it also serves as an outpost for the relevant research activities of scientists from the University of Innsbruck, particularly in the fields of ecology and botany.

In addition, private guests enjoy the amenities of the University Centre during the periods when there are no conferences (especially during the Christmas holidays). The University Centre is a sporting venue for the exchange of knowledge between representatives of science from all over the world.

The Central legal serviceadvises all bodies and members of the University of Innsbruck on university law matters. The Vice-Rectorate for Human Resources or the Human Resources Department is responsible for labour law matters and the projekt.service.büro for legal issues in connection with projects.
