The Department of Translation Studies at the University of Innsbruck was founded in 1945. Our aim is to apply the optimal synergies between teaching, research and practice. We can look back on a long tradition of training professional language and cultural mediators and have trained many generations of successful translators and interpreters.  You can find more detailed information on our degree programs and the career opportunities they offer in the study section. In June 2024, INTRAWI was accepted into the European Commission's EMT network with the master's degree programs Technical Translation and Translation Technology and Literary and Audiovisual Translation and, together with universities from 23 countries, represents the highest quality standards and the most up-to-date training goals for the EMT period 2024-2029.
