Testing

The Technical Testing and Research Institute (TVFA Innsbruck) at the University of Innsbruck is responsible for carrying out experimental investigations in the field of structural engineering within the Faculty of Technical Sciences.

In co-operation with the Units of Timber Engineering, Steel Construction and Mixed Building Technology, Concrete Structures and Dridge Design, Material Mechnology, Applied Mechanics, Energy Efficient Buildings and Strength of Materials and Structural Analysis, the TVFA endeavours to promote the development of sustainable technical solutions in the field of research and further development of building materials, construction methods and building structures.

To fulfil this responsible task, the TVFA concentrates on the following areas of activity:

  • Support in the realisation of laboratory exercises for students
  • Support with bachelor's theses, master's theses, dissertations and post-doctoral theses
  • Realisation of research projects funded by the FWF, FFG, Province of Tyrol, etc.
  • Support for research and development projects for external company partners

Whether it is support in the planning of a series of experiments, the production of test specimens, setting up the planned experimental setup or the selection and assembly of the necessary measurement technology, a well-coordinated laboratory team, modern measurement technology and up-to-date laboratory equipment are always required in order to be able to provide or collect meaningful data.

The TVFA is constantly working to fulfil these requirements for its "customers" in the best possible way and to expand its expertise.
