BioGAP - Biogas and Ash Processing
Funding:
The project is funded by the Climate and Energy Fund and carried out as part of the "NEUE ENERGIEN 2020" programme. (FFG project number: 834424)
Funding period: 04/2012 - 09/2014
Content:
Ashes from biomass combustion (e.g. wood ashes) can fixCO2 and bind H2S. The extent ofCO2 and H2Spurification and the suitability of these ashes for the upgrading of biogas are being investigated in the laboratory and in a semi-industrial research plant in this project. As a result of this new method of biogas purification, carbonated ashes are produced which are considerably less problematic for further utilisation and disposal.
The Institute of Infrastructure is involved in the planning of the research plant and carries out the gas measurements to determine the purification performance.
