UniBigBand Innsbruck
The UniBigBand (UBB) was founded in 2004 by students & teachers of the University of Innsbruck. The members of the UBB recruited then as now from a wide variety of disciplines, but share a common passion for jazz music. Unabashedly, they convinced renowned Tyrolean jazz trumpeter & bandleader Martin Ohrwalder to graciously take them on and form a true jazz orchestra out of a polymorphous entity.
As an academic ensemble, the big band strives to successively raise its musical level and provide members and listeners alike with a rewarding intersection between everyday university life and musical culture.
