Austrian Ground Engineering Prize (Österreichischer Grundbaupreis) 2013

The "Austrian Ground Engineering Prize" is offered every second year by the Austrian National Comittee of the International Society for Soil Mechanics and Geotechnical Engineering (ISSMGE). Its purpose is the advancement of scientific findings in the field of geotechnical engineering. This year the 2nd prize was awarded to Mr. Bernhard Gruber for his diploma thesis on "Numerical simulation of the impact problem during rapid impact compaction". Franz-Josef Falkner and Professor Christoph Adam of the Unit of Applied Mechanics supervised Bernhard Gruber in this work.
