Award of the Austrian Society of Engineers and Architects in Tyrol (ÖIAV) 2011

Mr. Patrick Salcher has been awarded the first prize for his diploma thesis on "Dynamic effect of high-speed trains on simple bridges", which was supervised by Professor Christoph Adam.

Mr. Alexander Tributsch has been awarded the third prize. In his diploma thesis, which was supervised by Professor Helmut Pradlwarter, he discussed the topic "Dynamic analysis of a movable crane structure with uncertain structural parameters and adventitious load functions".

The prize of the Austrian Society of Engineers and Architects has been awarded for the first time by the Tyrolean section (ÖIAV-Tirol) for outstanding diploma theses in the field of civil engineering and architecture. In addition to excellent grading by the particular university the societal relevance and the innovative character of the diploma thesis were essential aspects for awarding a prize as well.

Mr. Christian Molzer, chairman of the ÖIAV-Tirol and managing the department of road construction of the province government of Tyrol, presented the certificates to the winners on December 7th, 2011, in the hall "Stiller Speicher" of the state mortgage bank of Tyrol in Innsbruck.
