Submitting and Publishing Theses

From 1 November 2023, diploma theses, master's theses and dissertations at the University of Innsbruck will be submitted exclusively electronically to the Examination Office and published in the institutional repository for publications ULB : Dok after completion of the degree programme.

Before submission, please enter the data for your work via this web formto receive your confirmation of registration. Submit the confirmation of data entry and the PDF of your thesis to the responsible examination office. The following information sheet provides a description of the procedure as well as contact addresses for questions and problems when entering the data.

Please note that the publication of previously published articles is not always permitted for cumulative papers. Further information can be found at here.

On 1 November 2023, some changes regarding the submission and publication of theses will come into force, see § 25 para. 7 first sentence, § 26 para. 7 first sentence and § 27 in the statutes section "Study law provisions".

If you submit your academic thesis to the Examination Office on or after 1 November 2023 , submission and publication will only take place electronically. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact your supervisor or the staff at responsible examination unit.

In accordance with "Study law provisions" § 27 (1), from 1 November 2023 all students of a diploma, master's or doctoral programme at the University of Innsbruck are obliged to publish their academic work electronically in the repository of the University and Provincial Library of Tyrol.

Dissertations at the Medical University of Innsbruck are still submitted in printed and electronic form. Please enter the data for your Webformular and submit the PDF together with the confirmation of registration to the office responsible for you. Please indicate there whether you wish to make your dissertation available online or not.

The entries will be activated as soon as the Digital Services Department has been informed of the positive completion of the degree programme by the relevant departments (in particular examination departments).
