Historical collections

The Historical Collections of the ULB Tirol comprise around 70,000 media units. The Special Collections Department looks after these oldest and most valuable book and special collections. In addition to ensuring the proper storage and care of the collection items, the department's main tasks include cataloguing them and transferring knowledge as part of user support and various forms of public relations work.

Due to its additional function as a provincial library, the ULB Tirol also assumes responsibility for other historical library collections in the Tyrolean region as far as possible. As part of the established focus on "Writing and Book Culture in Tyrol", the department acts as a communication, coordination and competence centre.
