A hub between business, research and further development.
Since its opening in 2016, the InnCubator has developed into an institution in the Tyrolean entrepreneurial ecosystem. Over the past few years, the InnCubator has established its position as a start-up programme that is the first port of call in Tyrol for start-ups from the idea phase to prototype or market entry. The cooperation between the project organisers, the University of Innsbruck and the Tyrolean Chamber of Commerce, is unique. The InnCubator also benefits from strong cooperation with the Tyrolean ecosystem and Startup.tirol.
By October 2020, the InnCubator's focus and range of services will be expanded to include additional user groups. This step is described as the transformation of the InnCubator as a "start-up centre" into an "innovation centre". In future, the InnCubator will act as a "hub" within the Tyrolean innovation ecosystem. The aim is to promote innovation and innovation culture at the location and to impart expertise in innovation management and business model development.
The aim is to establish a networked innovation ecosystem that is collaborative, future-orientated, innovation-driven and goal-oriented, which has an individual, training and supportive effect on participants, as well as producing innovations that have a lasting impact on the economy and society.
The 6 guiding principles of the InnCubator
01 Promoting talent
Programmes for students of all disciplines in the field of Entrepreneurship in cooperation with the Innovation and Entrepreneurship working group.
02 Challenge SMEs
Workshops in the areas of idea generation and digital business models as part of the Digital Innovation Hub West funding programme and the further expansion of innovation support for SMEs.
03 Involve corporates
Individually agreed service packages for large companies in return for sponsorship and expertise.
04 Supporting founders
Implementation of the INNC programme to support start-up teams.
05 Transferring research
The university's transfer centre inspires researchers to consider Entrepreneurship as an alternative career path. The InnCubator is also an important part of this mission.
06 Realising prototypes
There is the opportunity to realise prototypes in cooperation with the experts and machines of the WIFI workshops.
