Next meetings / workshops

The 15th meeting is scheduled for 15 and 16th March 2012 at CSM in Golden, Colorado (Invitation by Prof. C. Frenzel). The 16th meeting is scheduled for 15th June 2012 at the University of Innsbruck.

Christian Frenzel appointed to CSM

Congratulations to our colleague Dr. Christian Frenzel for his appointment as an associate professor at the Colorado School of Mines (CSM) in Golden. Dr. Frenzel has been part of Professor Thuro's work group in ABROCK and received his PhD from University of Technology in Munich, Germany. Dr. Frenzel's research interests include rock fragmentation by mechanical excavation systems and wear of cutting tools. He is involved in both, mining and tunnelling aplications. As part of this new appointment Dr. Frenzel will contribute an additional work package to ABROCK. We are looking forward to collaborating with CSM and Dr. Frenzel.

LCM-Tests

MUL Montan University Leoben and SMC Sandvik Mining Corporation have started in 2010 a comprehensive testing program with LCM Linear Cutting Machine. They are testing rock samples from all over Austria in order to check their suitability as concrete aggregates. Part of the data from these tests will be utilised for ABROCK.
