March 18, 8.30pm
Die Bäckerei, Innsbruck
Moffatt spent twenty-five years as a professional songwriter in Nashville before moving with his family to the Palouse in 1999. Among the many artists who have recorded his songs are Johnny Cash, Dolly Parton, Tammy Wynette, Alabama, Merle Haggard, the Nitty Gritty Dirt Band, and Kathy Mattea. He has recorded seven albums of his own and toured extensively around the world. Now, after fifteen years, he finally found his way back to Innsbruck. He played a wonderful concert at Die Bäckerei that was well attended and well received. He delighted his audience with famous songs such as "Rose of my Heart" from the last Johnny Cash record. Before that he did a little workshop at the Neue Mittelschule für Musik here in Innsbruck. Not only did he teach them about Country and Blues music, he also gave the children some insight into his songwriting techniques and even wrote a nice little song about "the winter that didn't happen" with them.
