The American Corner Innsbruck proudly presented Prof. Dr. Paul Rundquist of the Martin-Luther-University in Halle-Wittenberg talking about President Obama’s two terms and what he predicts he is going to do in his last two years in office. He told personal stories of his work with the United States Congress and the way things have changed in connection to legislation making, the parties, the power of individuals and the media as well as national views on hot topics like abortion, immigration, and gun law. He went on to talk about the candidates for the 2016 Presidential Elections, enlightening listeners on the background, political views, education, and family background of those who already announced their candidacy. He also made predictions of who is going to still announce and why. Due to the intimate group, Prof. Rundquist was able to change his presentation to a more interactive kind of talk, where questions were asked freely during the presentation instead of in a Q&A at the end. Prof. Rundquist’s inside knowledge was equally impressive to his ability to jump from one topic to another without forgetting to tie it up nicely without any loose ends. The 17 people listening to him especially enjoyed having a chance to ask some more questions and chat freely at a light reception afterwards.
