SFB Women's Networking Day
The „SFB Women’s Networking Day“ is an event series for female researchers at different stages of their career. It is organized by the SFB (Special Research Unit) “Credence Goods, Incentives and Behavior” at the University of Innsbruck.
The aim of this series is to bring together reputable international female researchers in the fields of economics and finance with female researchers from the SFB and associated institutions. In particular, invited speakers share their experiences about all aspects of being a woman at different stages of an academic career. This could take the form of lectures, round-tables, and social events offering an informal environment for lively chatting and discussions.
This event series takes place at least once every semester and is a great opportunity to share views, opinions, and experiences with other women about being a researcher.
If you have any further questions regarding this event series, please contact one of the organisers (Helena Fornwagner and Laura Hueber).
2020 - Heike Hennig-Schmidt
We are excited to announce that Heike Hennig-Schmidt from the University of Bonn will be our guest in the next Women's Networking Day taking place on February 5, 2020.
2019 - Bettina Rockenbach
2018 - Anna Dreber Almenberg
2018 - Marie Claire Villeval
Marie Claire works as a Research Professor in economics at theNational Center for Scientific Research (CNRS) and is affiliated with the GATE (Groupe d’Analyse et de Théorie Economique) research institute at the University of Lyon. She is an outstanding woman who contributed substantially to the field of experimental economics.
Welcoming her as our first guest for the „SFB Women’s Networking Day“ offered a great opportunity to our female scientific staff to meet with her in an informal environment and discuss about the role and challenges of women in academia. Marie Claire opened the meeting with a short presentation about career building which served as a starting point for a lively discussion.
Participants enjoyed coming together for the start of our “SFB Women’s Networking Day” event series and we are looking forward to welcome our next guest – Anna Dreber Almenberg – in autumn.
