Researcher (f/m/d) für the ERDF research project PROSEED - Code PR.25-LMQ-02.04

For the ERDF research project PROSEED “Research into drying and fermentation technologies for the valorization of innovative plant protein raw materials for food and agriculture“ (ERDF 2021-2027, n. 1080, CUP B57H24003770007) the working groups “Laboratory for Flavours and Metabolites” and the “Laboratory of NMR Spectroscopy” is looking for a: Researcher (f/m/d) - Code PR.25-LMQ-02.04

The aim of the PROSEED project is to research fermentation and drying technologies to valorize innovative products and by-products derived from a patented process for protein extraction from plants.

Job Description

The areas of responsibility are as follows:

Characterization of various extracts from different agricultural products and by-products, analysis with LC-MS/GC-MS and NMR to determine the chemical profiles of natural products. Data evaluation, reporting, presentation, and publication of results. Participation in the project meetings.

Requirements

-       completion university studies of at least four years attested by a diploma in chemistry, pharmacy, biotechnology, natural science or similar

-       knowledge of Italian or German (will be evaluated during the interview)

Desired additional competences constituting evaluation criteria:

-       knowledge in analytical chemistry

-       experience with LC-MS/GC-MS and NMR

-       experience with data analysis and chemometrics

-       publication record with particular focus on metabolomics and natural products

-       PhD, Post-Doc experience or relevant work experience is an advantage

-       knowledge of Italian or German (will be evaluated during the interview)

-       good knowledge of spoken and written English - can be evaluated during the interview

-       good organizational and communication skills

-       candidates should be highly motivated, able to work independently and possess good team-working skills

Workplace: Laboratory for Flavours and Metabolites and the Laboratory of NMR Spectroscopy (c/o NOI Techpark in Bozen/Bolzano)

Contract duration: full time, until 31.12.2027

This is a full-time position at Laimburg Research Centre. The regular place of work will be the NOI Techpark, Via A.Volta n. 13, 39100  Bolzano (BZ). Classification is based on the category " employee" according to the Agricultural collective agreement. The contract may be renewed if at that time the project will be renewed and/or funds will still be available, within the limits of the legal provisions at that time.

Personal suitability may be assessed by means of a structured questionnaire and this may amount to up to 30% of the overall mark. During the interview, a written assessment of the competences specified in the job advertisement may also be carried out. General requirements for admission to the proceedings:

-       full possession of the political and civil rights

-       full possession of the legal conditions and permits allowing an employment relationship in Italy

-       no criminal convictions or legal proceedings for criminal offences, which are incompatible with employment at the Laimburg Research Centre.
