INFORMATION FOR PAPER/DEMO PRESENTERS

Please check the latest version of the conference program for information on time and location of your presentation. Paper presentations and demos will be 25 minutes in total, including time for discussion. We kindly ask you not to exceed 18 minutes of presentation to allow enough time for questions and comments. Your session chair will monitor the timing of the presentations and the discussion within each session.

There will be 5-minute breaks in-between presentations to allow attendees to change rooms and give the following speaker time to set up. Please be sure to arrive to your session on time to have enough time to set up and clear any questions with your session chair. There will be student helpers allocated to each room to help you set up and support you with technical questions.

All conference rooms are equipped with a computer (including USB), a projector, and a sound system to play videos; you can bring your presentation in ppt(x). or pdf. format. If you would like to bring and present from your own device, you can connect to the projector with an HDMI cable. The cable is provided, but we kindly ask you to also bring your own HDMI adapter, if necessary.  We highly recommend charging your digital devices in advance. Austria uses Schuko plugs (Type F, 230 Volts). For more information on power sockets, please see https://www.iec.ch/world-plugs.

LTRC 2024 aims to promote justice, equity, diversity and inclusion during the event to create a rewarding conference experience for all attendees. For this, we have put together LTRC 2024 INCLUSIVE PRESENTER RECOMMENDATIONS below that you might wish to consider to make your paper presentation accessible for a diverse audience.

INFORMATION FOR WORK-IN-PROGRESS PRESENTERS

Work-in-progress (WiP) presentations will be held on Wednesday, July 3 from 1.30 – 3.00 pm. The WiP sessions will take place in three separate rooms – Kaiser-Leopold-Saal, Madonnensaal and SR VI –, which are located close to each other. In all rooms, you will find banquet tables. Each table will have a number card which corresponds to the number of the presentation in the conference program. Please check the program in advance for your specific number and room.

Attention: These three rooms are a 2-minute walk away from the general conference venue, located in the beautiful historic university buildings at Campus Universitätsstraße – Theologie (Address: Karl-Rahner-Platz 3). There will be signposts and staff to direct you to the rooms. You may also click here, to get the directions.

The WiP session format is simultaneous small-group presentations followed by discussions. The WiP session will be divided into 3x25-minute time slots, during which the presenters give a brief overview of their project (8-10 minutes). The remainder of the time will be dedicated to questions and feedback. After each 25-minute slot, you will hear a bell ring and we will ask the audience to move on to a different table. This allows you to present and discuss your study three times, with three different groups of people.

To best prepare for the WiP presentation, please focus on one specific aspect of your study– this may be the design or preliminary findings, depending on the feedback you might need for your project to progress. You may also prepare questions to discuss with fellow researchers.

We kindly ask WiP presenters to bring their own laptop or tablet with their presentation slides. The rooms will have access to the Internet via eduroam or the conference WiFi.  Of course, you may also use handouts or other print-out materials instead or in addition to your slides.

We highly recommend charging your digital devices in advance.  There will be multiplugs (Type F Schuko plugs, 230 Volts) and extension cables available if you need a power source. Please bring your own adapter to charge your device, if needed. For more information on power plugs in Austria, see https://www.iec.ch/world-plugs.

INFORMATION FOR POSTER PRESENTERS

Poster presentations will take place on Thursday, July 4 from 2.00 – 3.30 pm.

You will find display boards set up in the foyer of the venue (Campus Universitätsstraße - SoWi) on the day. The display boards will be available as of Thursday morning for you to prepare in advance. We encourage you to do this, as we will have coffee breaks and lunch in the same area. This already gives people the opportunity to look at your poster during the breaks.

The display boards are 100 cm wide by 180 cm tall, i.e., 3.2 feet wide x 5.9 feet tall. For example, you can easily fit an ISO/DIN A0 portrait format or an ISO/DIN A1 landscape format on the boards (see image).

You are free to choose your display board and thumbtack your poster to the board. Thumbtacks will be provided at the registration desk.
