Japan Workshop 2025, University of Tsukuba
Am 4. und 5. März 2025 fand der Workshop "The Growth of Eurasian Empires and the Imperial Radius of Action: Analyzing Imperial Dynamics - the Radius of Action and the Radius of Impact" an der Unitersität Tsukuba, am Tokyo Campus, Raum 121 statt. Mit Vorträgen teilgenommen haben der stellvertretende Leiter Robert Rollinger (The Achaemenid-Persian Army and Its Maximum Outreach. The ‘Persian Wars’ and the Problems with our Sources), das Faculty-Mitglied Sebastian Fink (The Fall of Damascus and the Radius of Action of the Neo-Assyrian Empire) und das Kollegiatsmitglied Clemens Steinwender (The Sasanians and their Borderlands – Analyzing Imperial Dynamics Using the Example of the Arabian Peninsula). Ebenfalls waren mehrere MitgliederInnen des Clusters of Excellence "Eurasian Transformations", in dem Robert Rollinger und Sebastian Fink ebenso wirken, an dem Workshop beteiligt und hielten gehaltvolle Vorträge. Hierbei handelte es sich um Tijana Krstic (Ottoman Methods of Conquest and Empire-Building Revisited, 14th-16th Centuries), Nina Mirnig (Around the Guptas: Indic Religio-political Strategies of Expansion between c.300–700 CE) und Ulrike Tanzer (Describing the Austrian-Hungarian Empire – ‘The Crown Prince’s Work’ (1885-1902)). Die Vorträge wurden von interessanten Diskussionen begleitet und wertvolle wissenschaftliche Erkenntnisse konnten gewonnen werden.
