Roland Psenner, O.Univ.-Prof., Dr. phil., has a background in biochemistry and microbiology. During his career, he moved from bacterioplankton to eutrophication studies and the biogeochemistry of sediment phosphorus; later on, he got interested in acidification and global change effects on lakes and extreme environments. At the moment he is doing alpine research in a more global sense (see Alpine Space-Man and Environment)
