Connor Howe completed his Bachelors of Human Kinetics degree at the University of British Columbia – Okanagan in Kelowna, Canada in 2018. Remaining at UBC-O, Connor completed his MSc (2020) and PhD (2024) supervised by Prof. Phil Ainslie. His MSc work focused on examining the pulmonary system whereby he validated a non-invasive technique for assessing pulmonary gas exchange efficiency during hypoxic exercise. His Phd research focused on examining cerebral blood flow regulation in high-altitude populations including the Sherpa of Nepal and Andeans of Peru. This include research conducted in adults and children living in La Rinconada Peru, the highest city in the world. Additionally, Connor’s PhD research examined the effects of simulated avalanche burial on human brain metabolism and cerebral blood flow regulation.
