Kurt Matzler is Professor of Strategic Management at the University of Innsbruck, Austria. He is academic director of the Executive MBA program at MCI in Innsbruck and partner of an international consulting firm IMP. Professor Matzler is the author of more than 300 scientific papers and several books, including co-author of the German edition of Innovator's Dilemma (2011), one of the six most important management books ever (Economist). He is also a co-author of “Digital Disruption” (2016) and “Open Strategy” (2021) books.

With more than 28,000 citations in Google Scholar, Kurt Matzler is one of the top 20 strategy researchers in Europe and one of the top 50 worldwide. Kurt Matzler is an avid cyclist and a solo finisher of the 2022 Race Across America. With his participation in RAAM, his Rotary team raised more than $4,000,000 in donations to eradicate polio.
