Thesauri

 

Thesauri are important for the structured organization of terms. The differentiation of basic categories, as in the DARIAH Back Bone Thesaurus, is particularly important. Another important aspect is the assignment of unique identifiers to the terms to ensure clear identification. The terms are primarily ordered using the DARIAH Back Bone Thesaurus, but can also be supplemented by additional ordering principles. A comparison with other thesauri, such as perio.do for time periods, the Getty Art & Architecture Thesaurus (AAT) and the German Geological Survey, ensures that the compilation of terms remains comprehensive and consistent.
