The Sacrament of Eucharist regarding Cosmological and Anthropological Aspects in the Theology of John Zizioulas
RESEARCH PURPOSE
The main purpose of my dissertation is to examine the Sacrament of Eucharist in the light of the view on person and the world in the theology of John Zizioulas. To achieve this goal it is necessary:
- To make a general analysis of the eucharistic theology of John Zizioulas.
- To establish a connection between eucharistic theology and Zizioulas' view of person and the world, highlighting the anthropological, cosmological, and ecological dimensions of the Sacrament of Eucharist.
- To examine these three dimensions of the Sacrament of Eucharist in the light of the teachings of Zizioulas, highlighting the meaning and connection of the Eucharist with current social problems.
RESEARCH QUESTIONS
1. How is the eucharistic theology of John Zizioulas generally presented?
2. What connection between the Sacrament of Eucharist and human nature is described in the works of Zizioulas?
3. How does the Orthodox theologian develop the cosmological and ecological dimension of the Sacrament of Eucharist?
4. What connection do these approaches to the Eucharist have with contemporary social problems?
RESEARCH METHODS
The research will use the method of critical analysis, as well as descriptive and comparative methods applied in the analysis of the works of John Zizioulas.
